Mission & vision
A place to know God
"Go therefore and make disciples…" (Matthew 28:19)
The mission
Know God. Find Freedom. Discover Purpose. Make a Difference.
This is a place where you find freedom, discover your purpose and make a difference. At Your Venture Church we give people the opportunity to use what God has given them to serve and love our world through like-minded discipleship.
The vision
We don't focus on your past. We invest in your future.
Our vision is to be a place for people who feel far from God to know and grow close to Him. We want to be a place where God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things through Christ, bringing glory to God.
What we believe
Come as you are
Venture Church is designed to erase the preconceived notions about church that have turned many people away from a local church.
In short
Our core beliefs
One God
Eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Bible
The inspired and authoritative Word of God, without error.
The Holy Spirit
Indwells all believers, enabling them to live godly lives when surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Salvation
We were made in God's image but separated by sin. Only through faith, repentance and trusting in Christ alone can that separation be removed.
God
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Revelation
God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
Mankind
Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creation.
The Fall
When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
The Church
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Resurrection
Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.
Our story
It started with $600
A place that doesn't focus on your past but invests in your future.
May 18, 2014
How it all started
Your Venture Church began when Rob and Jamie Dugan followed the desire God put on their hearts to start a church in the Pittsboro and Lizton area to serve the communities of Hendricks County. With only $600, Venture rented and held its first service in the Hendricks County Civic Theater in Maplewood, the former Maplewood Christian Church.
18 months mobile
A home of our own
Venture met in several locations, including the Tri-West High School auditorium. After 18 months of setting up and tearing down every week, Venture secured a former lawn mower factory sitting on 20 acres. It became our first permanent home, and the building on this site's map.
Today
Expanding the vision
We want to keep reaching the surrounding communities with the message of hope and good news found only in Jesus Christ.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…" (Matthew 28:19)
Your past isn't the end
God has a better plan for you
All of us have a past that may involve problems and pain, some of it out of our control. God didn't cause all of it, but He can bring good out of the bad.
"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Who, not what
We all need each other
At its core, a small group is less about what you do and more about who you do it with. Through meaningful conversation, prayer and studying the Bible together, we grow closer to God and each other. Groups meet throughout the week in different neighborhoods.
